On the drive home from Lexington, we stopped in Elgin at the oldest barbecue joint in Texas — the 1882 house that invented the Hot Gut. We somehow never ordered the famous link. The Slammer and the lamb ribs made their own case.

Fast forward one week later: hat earned and some fine bbq eaten!
